Bloodborne Pathogens Online Training Program
Health professionals in a variety of work settings are at risk of exposure to bloodborne pathogens. Bloodborne pathogens include HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis B and C, and are a concern in today's health field. It is an OSHA requirement of any employee who may potentially be exposed to bloodborne pathogens that they complete a bloodborne pathogens training program each year.
Target audience: Healthcare employees, dentists and their staff, housekeepers in healthcare facilities, tissue and blood bank personnel, firefighters, funeral home employees, tattoo artists and body piercers, personal trainers, fitness instructors, clinic employees, any employee who is responsible for rendering CPR or First Aid as part of their duties.
This course has been approved for 1 CEU from the National Council on Strength & Fitness (NCSF).
Dimensions of Wellness for Medical Assistants
As medical assistants are being relied on increasingly in the health field to perform preliminary health screenings and deliver health education, it is important they have an understanding of the dimensions of wellness. By the end of the program, participants will understand the meaning of wellness, know the difference between health and wellness, be familiar with the 6 dimensions of wellness, and understand how to communicate wellness to patients or clients with different needs or health concerns. The medical field aims to manage chronic disease. It is important for the medical assistant to understand how to communicate wellness to patients.

Stages of Change for Medical Assistants

By the end of the program, participants will understand the Stages of Change or Transtheoretical Model, know how to make SMART goals and translate these concepts into practice. The medical field aims to manage chronic disease. It is important for the medical assistant to be able to identify a patient’s “stage of change” and understand how to communicate wellness through SMART goal setting.
